Ipomoea batatas, Ornamental Sweet Potato, Solanaceae

Genus and species: Ipomoea batatas
Common Name: Ornamental Sweet Potato
Family Name: Solanaceae

This plant is very vigorous. There are several cultivars that exist, allowing a variety of colorful vines in the landscape. As opposed to other potatoes, when the vines are broken, Ornamental Sweet Potatoes release a white sap.
