Veronia noveboracensis, Iron Weed, Asteraceae

Genus and species: Veronia noveboracensis
Common Name: Iron Weed
Family: Asteraceae

A late blooming summer perennial, this plant has alternate leaves. The flowers have no petals, only purple stamens. Iron Weed reseeds itself and is prone to powdery mildew.
